CALLED TO SERVE

One Hope Church is committed to communicating the love of Christ to our local community through service, evangelism, fellowship and more. Whether lending a helping hand when there is a need or sharing the Gospel and planting a seed, we are called to serve others.

SOME OF OUR PAST PROJECTS

Comunity Meals Program
OHC youth partnered with Peace Community Center to serve meals as part of their Community Meals Program. This program has provided free dinners to the community every October and April since 1987.

Back-to-School Supply Drive
Sponsored by “The Shelter” cell group, the back-to-school supply drive collected school supplies, calculators, backpacks and more for middle-school aged kids in the community. All supplies collected were donated to Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH Food Bank for distribution.

"Shoes to Water" campaign
In an effort to support the Kent Lutheran Church’s Community Restoration program in South Sudan, OHC members cleaned out their closets and donated used shoes. The shoes were then sold overseas to be rehabilitated and the money was used to purchase water filtration systems in order to provide clean water to communities in South Sudan. To find out more about this project and following the South Sudan Community Restoration program, like them on Facebook.

"Love your neighbor"
When a local families in our community fall on hard times or just need some assistance, the OHC congregation springs into action. As challenges can arise at any point and turn someone’s world upside down, what better way to love our neighbor than to lend a helping hand when in need, that others might see Christ through us.

Tacoma Rescue Mission
As an ongoing relationship, OHC partners with the Tacoma Rescue Mission to help serve meals and help with the various needs they have in the kitchen. This is an ongoing opportunity and available for anyone that would like to volunteer.
